A gallery where you can spend the night

Mammels Traum /Dieter Mammel’s Dream

Never has the artist felt as comfortable and secure as when he stayed with his grandparents in the country as a child – in their, to his three-year old’s eyes, “gigantic” oak bed. In “Mammel’s Dream” room it recreates this experience with an oversized bed. All rooms in the hotel have been individually decorated by an artist, whose concept includes the entire room. Every room is an original, there are double rooms with prices starts on 99 euros and singelrooms for 49 euros and its located in Mitte so close to communication and city.

As close to the Spree as possible

Badeschiff means bathing ship, the brainchild of a local artist huge swimming pool made out of the shell of an industrial barge that floats in the river. The somewhat dirty part of the eastern Berlin Treptow, seems a unlikely place for sand-and-surf splashing, but once you pass through the entrance gate, there is cool bright sand, hammocks, folding beach chairs and the cool blue water of the pool itself, where you can swim from 8 a.m. until midnight the water is heated to 24 degrees Celsius and filled with 400,000 liters of fresh water. At night, the pool is lit and you have Berlin’s night sky. The atmosphere most incredible.

In the company of the pool there are concert halls and a old ship MS Hoppetossa with club music and restaurant.
